Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American screen and stage actress, best well-known for her films in Ray Undercover Brother and on the television series The Mentalist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies at Brown University as well as a Masters in Fine Arts in Acting from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Aunjanue is an American actress as well as a producer and director. She works in television and film. Her acting journey began in theater and later appeared in numerous shows on television as well as independent and mainstream movies. She became famous as Miranda Shaw, a character in ABC's Quantico. The BET's epic series The Book of Negroes she appeared. In addition, she be praised by critics for her role but also received a few awards and nominations. Her professional acting debut as Ariel on the stage in The Tempest in 1995. The actress has appeared on Broadway with roles in Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis.
