Simone Biles
Simone Arianne Biles (/sI’moUn ‘baI@lz/; March 14, 1997 [4]) is an American gymnast who is artistic. The seven Olympic medals are tied with Shannon Miller for the most Olympic medals for an American gymnast, and she is equal to ninth overall. Biles has won 25 World Championship medals, she is the most accomplished gymnast to ever compete in the Gymnastics World Championships, and is considered by many sources as the best gymnast ever. [5] In 2022, Biles was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Joe Biden. Biles won individual gold medals in Rio de Janeiro's 2016 Summer Olympics. Bronze on balance beam, vault and all-around were her prizes. Biles also won bronze in the United States Team, which was dubbed"the "Final Five". She was pulled out of the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics due to "the twisties", an air balance disorder that affects her ability to maintain her balance. Biles was awarded a silver medal as part of the US team and the bronze medal on the balance beam. The judges praised the partial withdrawal she had made, her mental and physical health-focused focus, determination and determination to be secure. She's the sixth female to earn an individual all-around title at the Olympics and World Championships. Biles is the tenth gymnast, and first American female gymnast to win a World medal on every event, and the first gymnast female since Daniela Silivas in 1988 to win a medal on every event at a single Olympic Games or World Championships, having accomplished this feat during the 2018 World Championships in Doha. Biles was born on the 14th of March 1997, in Columbus, Ohio, the third of four siblings.Her birth mother, Shanon Biles, was not able to take care of Simone or her siblings - Adria, Ashley, and Tevin. All four were in and out foster care. In 2000, Biles' maternal grandfather, Ron Biles, and his second wife, Nellie Cayetano Biles began temporarily caring for Shanon's kids in the north Houston suburb of Spring, Texas, after learning that his grandchildren had been placed in foster care. In 2003, the couple had officially adopted Simone and her younger sister Adria. Ron's sister Shanon and Shanon's aunt Harriet adopted their two oldest children. Biles is a Belizean citizen, through her adoptive mom and considers Belize her second home. Biles and her family are Catholic.
